F1 | Vettel on team radio farewell to Ferrari: “A good way to express gratitude to the team”

At the end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, held on Sunday at the Yas Marina Circuit, Sebastian Vettel wanted to pay homage to Ferrari and all the men who shared these six years with him in red with a sung radio team. In fact, the German, to the tune of Azzurro by Adriano Celentano, thanked Maranello and wished the best for the future.

The four-time world champion, who unfortunately failed to score in his last race in red, ended his experience with the Cavallino with a haul of 12 pole positions and 14 victories which place him third in the all-time standings at behind Michael Schumacher (72) and Niki Lauda (15).

"Obviously I had a lot of highs with the whole team and every time I was really excited, for some reason I started singing – said Vettel, quoted by Autosport – I think it was a nice way, for one last time, to sing again. The song I leave them with is a very popular Italian one, Azzurro by Adriano Celentano. I changed the text, so hopefully I don't have any copyright issues. But yes, I think it was a good way to express gratitude to the team".
