F1 | Vettel on the new Ferrari course: "It's not a revolution, the team is still the same"

2019 brought some significant changes within the Ferrari. The most important concerned the change at the top of the Sport Management which led to the farewell (after four seasons) of Maurizio Arrivabene with the consequent promotion of the technical director Mattia Binotto to team principal.

Speaking of these changes to the Maranello organization chart, Sebastian Vettel he admitted that this is not a full-blown upheaval, underlining how the technical basis has remained practically unchanged compared to the recent past.

"It's not a revolution – said Seb -. The team is the same, but now Mattia is the team principal. The team and the foundation are the same. It's not rocket science: we've had a winning machine for the last two years and it would have been madness to change everyone and move everything. We have had our difficult moments, now we all move forward and this represents a great challenge from Mattia. For my part, I will try to support him as much as possible as well as the team. He knows everyone, from this point of view there is nothing new. He already had a role that gave him responsibility".

On the atmosphere in Maranello, where the drivers' and constructors' titles have been missing for over a decade, Vettel added: “It's terrible, everyone gives their contribution by pushing to the maximum. I don't think our starting point is negative. There is so much to improve from here on out and that's a big thing. We have a long season ahead of us, but everyone is working hard, the team spirit is fantastic".
