F1 | Vettel on Portimão: “It seems exciting, there are lots of gradient changes and blind corners”
“I don't think I've competed in Portugal in my career,” the German underlined
The Portimão track, where the Portuguese Grand Prix weekend will open tomorrow with the first two free practice sessions, will be an unknown for many drivers. Among which he also figures Sebastian Vettel. During the press conference on Thursday, the German said he was enthusiastic about testing a new track for which he has started to take "measurements" on the simulator.
"The circuit seems really exciting, there are many changes in gradient and many blind corners – said Vettel – I tried to find some on-board but there is a very limited supply. Then I went to the simulator and I think this can help me understand which way to turn tomorrow. I think it's exciting to go to a new circuit. I have never competed in Portugal in Formula One, I think I have never done so in my career. I've been to Estoril but without racing".
