F1 | Vettel, lost world championship: “Baku was a big mistake”

The championship of Formula 1 2017 has already been assigned to Lewis Hamilton in Mexican Grand Prix. The title went to the English of Mercedes after a fight with Sebastian Vettel which was compelling and on edge before the disastrous Asian period which only brought trouble to the Ferrari. Between technical problems, driver errors and misfortunes scattered here and there, Ferrari had to give up this year too the dream of winning the title which Maranello has been missing for 10 years now.

According to Vettel himself "it is right" to think that the world championship was lost for a series of “technical failures and pilot errors. There are always things you could do differently,” she continued. The truth is that, after a good season, especially looking at Ferrari's last years, the Italian team did not achieve the most important objective that it finally wanted to achieve. “We didn't have the season we could have had and deserved to have, for various reasons,” continued the German from Brazil.

There were many points that Ferrari lost along the way: among these those of Singapore Grand Prix, which was a total nightmare for the Stable. With both cars out of the race due to an accident at the start, so many hopes were destroyed that weekend. Vettel also thinks about what happened to Baku, where he deliberately took a shot at Hamilton: “Looking back, it's Baku that gets remembered, the rest I think was good,” he said.

Now only two races remain, and Vettel's goal is to defend second place: Bottas threatens his position and is only 15 points away. “This year isn't over yet. We still have the objective of defending second place. This is the priority right now. We have a lot of work to do and many things we can learn from this year for next. We want to do really well and try to win both races,” he concluded.
