F1 | Vettel: “Formula 1 must act and concretely help Ukraine”
"We can't help by going faster on the track, we have to raise money"
When it comes to social commitment, Sebastian Vettel is always at the forefront and this time, the four-time world champion has asked Formula 1 to do more to help the Ukrainian population, affected by the war.
“I think a lot of the things needed to help people are basic”, the German told GPFans.
“Essential things, beyond shelter: making sure they have food, blankets, diapers, whatever you can think of. And to provide all these things ultimately, you need money, so I think we should organize something and raise money. I mean, Formula 1 is about a lot of money. We can't help people by going faster or slower on the track, but we can do it by maybe creating a way to raise money. And I think that's what we should probably do. So, in addition to expressing your support, I think support or solidarity doesn't just mean mentioning that you are close to people, but also taking action and helping.".
