F1 | Vettel made a mistake, but there is nothing irreparable

The German would only need to start again with a great performance to regain his lost enthusiasm

F1 | Vettel made a mistake, but there is nothing irreparable

An unwanted collision, which ruined a race that had been positive until lap 37 Sebastian Vettel battling with Max Verstappen for third position at Silverstone.

An obvious mistake, the one committed by the Ferrari German, as he himself admitted without problems at the end of the GP, which certifies the delicate moment that Seb is going through in his career. A negative vortex, also given the growing performances shown in recent rounds by teammate Charles Leclerc, which however it would be unfair to label as definitive and irreparable.

In fact, it would take little for the German to recover that enthusiasm which today seems to have melted like snow in the sun. A "Vettel" race would be enough to return to breathing those high levels to which he has accustomed us in recent years and which would allow Seb himself to remove those clouds full of negativity that hover over him.

But perhaps even this wouldn't be enough to appease all those who have once again taken to the 'field' on social media today, returning to fill the German with insults and forgetting what respect is towards a driver who, despite ups and downs, still wrote important pages in Ferrari history. It's true that the "gem" is missing, but it's not Vettel's fault alone if the Red team hasn't managed to break that world championship fast that has lasted for over a decade now.

Yet, rest assured, these Ferrari 'fans' would be the same ones who would tear their clothes if Vettel went elsewhere and started winning race after race. A bit like what happened with some technicians who moved to the competition and began to stock up on trophies and titles. But that's another story.

The present and the (near) future must be focused on the mental recovery of soldier Seb, because Ferrari cannot afford the luxury of racing with just one striker given the forceful return of Red Bull and a Mercedes that travels like a missile.
