F1 | Vettel says mea culpa: “The accident is my fault, I'm sorry for Bottas”

Sebastian Vettel with a clear mind admits his mistake at the first corner of the French GP which caused the accident with Valtteri Bottas and the subsequent comeback from the back after changing the nose and tires in the pit: "I don't think Hamilton anticipated it, I on my side I made a good start, the best among the first three then I had no space, Valtteri Bottas' start was good, I couldn't go right or left or I went off the track or halfway into Turn 1. I tried to get out of it but I couldn't do something else. I crashed and I no longer had any grip, it was simply my fault, it was my mistake, I got the penalty and I collected it. I think the penalty is fair,” commented the German.

Who then also wanted to apologize to the Finn involved in the crash and to the Ferrari team: "It's a shame for Valtteri, in the end I ruined his race. But also ours. It's really a shame, because we could have finished on the podium. I don't know if I could have won, it's difficult to say how fast we would have been, but we had a good car,” he concluded.
