F1 | Verstappen supremacy in Miami: “We achieved a great victory”

Starting in front or from the center of the group makes no difference for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman literally dominated the race Miami, despite the comeback that saw him start from ninth position. The two-time world champion built a perfect race, where he made the difference with the management of the hard tire in the first stint. Using the mediums he had no difficulty in overtaking Sergio Perez's sister Red Bull who tried, but in vain, to defend the position during the 48th lap.

An important success, the fourth of the season, topped off by the fastest lap achieved by Verstappen who thus extended his lead in the standings. Now there are 14 points between Max and Perez.

“It was a good race – declared Verstappen, interviewed at the end of the GP – I stayed out of trouble at the start, then I had a clean race. I managed to recover from the first lap, I was out for a long time on the hard tyres. I think this made the difference. I had a short battle with Checo at the end, very clean, and that's the most important thing. We achieved a great victory today."

Verstappen, completing his analysis, added: “Yesterday I had an unexpected event, but today I kept calm. We ran cleanly, winning a race starting from ninth place is always very satisfying. The strategy to have with the tough? We talked about it yesterday, we were confident that he would pay and luckily he did."
