F1 | Verstappen, irregular overtaking on Kimi and penalty: "Very stupid decision"

He recovered from the sixteenth position up to fourth place, fought in the final corners to conquer the podium occupied by Ferrari di Kimi Raikkonen. The overtaking with strength and a lot of courage the Dutchman managed to snatch third position just before the finish line, only to then receive a 5 second penalty for cutting the corner, exceeding the track limit on all four tyres, which forced him to relinquish his step again for Kimi's return.

Max, however, is not at all happy with this decision and even takes it out on her race direction: “It's very stupid how they acted today. We went off track all weekend during practice, no one said anything, even Bottas had done the same as me without getting any penalties, so why did he do it to me? I was fine with it, but I was penalized. What did I do wrong compared to the others?”, he commented after the race to the microphones of Sky Sports. With that pace he could really have conquered the podium: “The race was great anyway, I wanted to finish in third place but I enjoyed the race. In the last three we were very, very fast, if not the fastest ever: the pace is very good, I certainly liked the last overtaking I made even if it didn't go well", concluded Verstappen bitterly.
