F1 | Verstappen: “Set up needs improvement, but we're not far away”

Third and sixth place for Max Verstappen respectively in FP1 e FP2 of Friday ad Abu Dhabi. The pilot Red Bull he encountered more difficulties in the afternoon, with a car still searching for the ideal set up, but potentially combative on this track. These were the Dutchman's words at the end of the day.

“We tried some new things today to see how they adapted to these conditions. In FP1 I was satisfied but I can't say the same about FP2. It didn't go exactly how I wanted it to, so there will still be something to fix tomorrow. This circuit in particular has a series of sequential corners, so you have to make sure that the car wriggles in the ideal way to be able to race properly. We need to improve the set up: but we're not that far off, at least that's positive. The track is very slippery, if you go outside the lines and hit a curb or find sand it's quite easy to lose grip, we saw several exits today. The engine we used today was an old one, not 100%, so tomorrow we will replace it to increase power. With a new engine and an improved set up I am confident that we will get a good position. Mercedes still look like the team to beat, so we will try to get as close as possible."
