The Dutch driver does not yet feel ready to be considered a possible contender for the 2019 world championship. According to Helmut Marko however, he could very well enter the fight with Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.
Regarding these predictions from the Red Bull consultant, Max Verstappen commented:
“It's so hard to say. The most important thing for this year will be to be consistent but I can't say if it will be enough to win the title. I'm a realist and an optimist but it's hard to say".
Despite this, however, he is happy with the work done by Honda:
“I don't want to say something against anyone but this engine is much more logical. The package looks solid, very nice!”.
