Hamilton vs Verstappen, the challenge heats up in Qatar
F1 | Verstappen-Hamilton, challenge on and off the track: Mara Sangiorgio's analysis [VIDEO]

Speaking on Sky Sport 24 late yesterday evening, Mara Sangiorgio analyzed the challenge between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton on the Friday of free practice valid for the Qatar Grand Prix, the third to last round of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship, specifying that neither of the two competitors for the championship he chose to reveal his cards.

Mercedes and Red Bull have in fact chosen a cautious approach for the first day of work at Losail, effectively postponing the full "horsepower" challenge to today, when an extremely important pole will be assigned from a race perspective, given that the characteristics of the Qatari track will not facilitate overtaking maneuvers.

The challenge, however, is not only sporting, but also political: having received the "no" from the Federation for the review of the episode between Verstappen and Hamilton in Brazil, Mercedes could suffer a backlash from Red Bull itself, which, through voice of the team principal, Christian Horner, said he was ready to open a protest against the rear wing of the W12. A no-holds-barred challenge that will enliven the last month and a half of this world championship.

Appointment at 12.00 on Sky Sport F1 HD for the third free practice session from the Losail circuit. Teams and drivers will have the last 60 minutes available to best prepare for the qualifying which will start at 15.00 pm.
