F1 | Vergne on the Verstappen situation: “He is making too many mistakes”

Interviewed by the Belgian newspaper La Dernière Heure, Jean-Eric Vergne spoke about the difficult moment that Max Verstappen is going through, underlining how the Dutch driver has all it takes to compete on equal terms with Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.

In fact, in terms of potential, JEV considers Verstappen to be one of the strongest drivers in the Circus, especially from a future perspective. The only real difference compared to the top drivers are the mistakes made on Sunday. The former Toro Rosso has a very instinctive character and this leads him not to think about his actions, making even quite gross mistakes. He has the talent to do it, but he is making too many mistakes and this is costing him a lot of points. The championship is still long and there are many events on the calendar, but I think that with these zeros he has ruined his world championship chances."
