F1 | Vasseur: “The pressure from Ferrari will make Red Bull make mistakes”

The Ferrari team principal believes that the exciting Australian Grand Prix won by Carlos Sainz is proof that the Maranello team can put Red Bull "under pressure". Similarly to last season's Singapore Grand Prix, Sainz ended Max Verstappen's winning streak, which stood at nine races before last weekend's trip to Melbourne's Albert Park circuit. Despite having an appendectomy just 16 days before the race, Sainz put in a brilliant performance as Ferrari claimed their first double since Bahrain 2022. Verstappen retired in a short time following a brake problem, while Sergio Perez he secured a lackluster fifth place. The Maranello team showed an extraordinary pace throughout the weekend, while Red Bull showed the first difficulties. It's no surprise that confidence is growing at Ferrari:

“We have built confidence in the last month but that was already the case in the latter part of last season. And I think the weekend in Melbourne was a good test because if we can put everything together and I'm not sure we'll be able to do that every single weekend, we can put them under a bit of pressure.
And it is when they are under pressure that they make mistakes, which means we have to continue in this direction,” said Vasseur quoted by RacingNews365.
