F1 | Vandoorne: “What a thrill to race here for the first time!”

The pilot of the McLaren he is looking with confidence to Sunday's race, the first on the Canadian circuit named after Gilles Villeneuve.

Despite retiring in the grand prix of Monaco, the Belgian driver had some positive feedback from him MCL32:

“I felt good in the car every time I went out on track, I felt I could push our package to the limit and bring home some points and it's a shame it didn't work out that way. Thanks to the team's updates there has been a step forward regarding the chassis and we will see what we can do for Canada".

This weekend will be special for Vandoorne since he has never raced on the Canadian circuit:

“I trained on the simulator, it's a complicated circuit, concentration is essential here, as demonstrated by the “Wall of Champions. Obviously, it will be completely different to Monaco in terms of preparation and setup but I'm excited because I'll be racing for the first time and it's nice to have Fernando next to me again; his experience will be very useful. The race won't be easy but here, there's more chance of overtaking and we could stay in the mix.".
