F1 | Official: Perez leaves Racing Point at the end of the season

Through a press release published on his social profiles, Sergio Perez announced that he will leave Racing Point at the end of the season. The Mexican driver specified that he does not yet have a plan B, but reiterated his desire to remain in Formula 1 and wished the best to the team to which he has been linked for seven years.

“Hello everyone, everything in life has a beginning and an end. After seven years together my adventure with the team will end at the end of this season. It hurts a bit because I bet on the team during the difficult moments: we managed to overcome the obstacles and I'm proud to have saved the jobs of several of my teammates. I will keep with me the memories of the best moments, the friendship and the satisfaction in having always given my best. I will be eternally grateful for the opportunity that Vijay Mallya gave me, he believed in me in 2014 and allowed me to continue my Formula 1 career with Force India. I wish the current administration, led by Lawrence Stroll, the best for the future, especially regarding the upcoming project with Aston Martin. I don't have a plan B, my intention is to continue racing here but this will depend on finding a project that gives me motivation to continue giving my all on every lap. I want to thank each of you for being with me over these ten years and my family who has always been ready to support me despite everything. Thanks to all my sponsors who believed in my project, to my staff and above all to God who blessed me with the opportunity to experience this incredible adventure called Formula 1. I hope to be able to give you some good news soon but for the moment, let's enjoy the next races. I carry you in my heart."
