F1 | Agreement reached to host the GP in Miami in 2021

In the past few hours, Formula One and the Hard Rock Stadium have signed the agreement to host a Grand Prix in Miami in May 2021.

However, the original plan envisaged that the sporting event would take place in the city center of the Florida city, but the idea was shelved for various reasons. Among which is the will of the citizens who, however, would not look favorably on this second proposal due to the consequences that such an event would bring: noise, pollution and road closures.

The route that will be built near the stadium that hosts the home games of the Miami Dolphins should be formed, based on rumors released by the Miami Herald in recent weeks, with 18 curves and two long straights with the paddock which would be positioned to the north-east of the facility.

"We are thrilled to announce that Formula 1 and Hard Rock Stadium have reached an agreement in principle to host the first Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium. With an estimated annual impact of more than $400 million and 35.000 room nights, the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix will be an economic boost for South Florida every year,” Miami Dolphis executive director Tom Garfinkel and Formula One commercial director Sean Bratches said in a joint statement.

"We are deeply grateful to our fans, public officials and the local tourism industry for their patience and support throughout this process – continue the note - We can't wait to bring the greatest racing spectacle to the planet for the first time in one of the most iconic and glamorous regions in the world".

The next step, after the agreement signed between the management of the Circus and Hard Rock Stadium, is approval by the Miami-Dade County inspectors through a vote that will be held on October 28th.
