F1 | Toto Wolff: “Alternative championships to Formula 1? Let's not talk nonsense."

In recent weeks, rumors have been circulating regarding a possible agreement between some leaders of the Formula 1 teams and people who have been part of the great Circus for years to build a sort of alternative championship, a hypothesis that was only very close in 2009 after the problems experienced with former FIA president Max Mosley but subsequently expired.

Car engine and sport revealed that last month Toto Wolff, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Bernie Ecclestone and Lawrence Stroll met in Gstaad, a Swiss ski resort, and it seems there was also talk of the next Concorde Agreement, given that the current one will expire in 2020.

“Lawrence invited me here to ski and Bernie has a chalet – said Toto Wolff. Talking about alternative championships to Formula 1 makes no sense, we support Liberty Media 100% in its campaign in the Circus."
