F1 | Toro Rosso satisfied after the two days of testing in Barcelona

Toro Rosso successfully completed the two-day test in Barcelona. After the excellent performance in last Sunday's Grand Prix, despite the positions not being particularly important due to the well-known problems with the two cars during the last pit stop, the Faenza team did many laps with Kvyat and Albon, determined in continuing to do well from Monte Carlo onwards after having started the 2019 world championship well.

“We had another productive day at Montmelò – said Guillaume Dezoteux, head of Toro Rosso car performance at the end of the two-day test. Alex took over from Daniil on day two and completed some important aerodynamic data collection operations which kept us busy for much of the morning session. Before lunchtime, despite the two red flags we managed to do a couple of short runs on C3 compound tyres, with a view to further optimisation. The wind that picked up in the afternoon made the car more inconsistent and difficult for him to drive and we concentrated on some suspension configurations, so as to experiment with different approaches on the C2 thick tyres, the ones that worked well during the race. We tried other elements by mounting the C3 tires and finally opted for runs dedicated to performance on the C4 compound. We can consider ourselves satisfied with the progress of these tests: both the cars and the power units were reliable, the drivers made no errors and the team was able to bring home a huge amount of data to analyze. Obviously, stopping testing at this point in the season and with 16 races still to go is a big challenge, but we will face it by doing our best to improve our package using the data collected in recent days."
