F1 | Toro Rosso, Newgarden idea for 2018

We are evaluating different profiles for the next season

F1 | Toro Rosso, Newgarden idea for 2018

Sensational indiscretion that comes directly from the Suzuka paddock: Toro Rosso is reportedly evaluating the figure of Josef Newgarden for the next United States Grand Prix, the seventeenth round of the 2017 Formula One world championship.

While waiting to find out what will become of Pierre Gasly (theoretically involved in the Super Formula championship with the Mugen team), Red Bull is apparently evaluating all the alternatives for the world championship event which will take place in Texas. Precisely in this sense, Helmut Marko's idea would be the 2017 IndyCar Champion.

Newgarden is a profile that the Austrian Manager likes a lot, so much so that his name has also come up for a possible second driver in 2018 right next to Gasly, but currently the obstacle of the Penske team would need to be overcome. The most credible alternative to the American driver would be Sebastian Buemi, a former Red Bull standard bearer who already has the points necessary for participation in a Formula One Grand Prix.

We just have to wait for an official communication from Toro Rosso which, in all likelihood, will arrive at the beginning of next week.
