F1 | Toro Rosso, Brendon Hartley: “We need updates”

We are approaching the Russian Grand Prix, the sixteenth event of the season. The one who has not yet obtained satisfactory results this year is certainly Brendon Hartley, with his teammate who instead managed to achieve some exploits, one above all in Bahrain, when he reached the finish line in fourth position. The New Zealander has always struggled since he made his debut in Formula 1, and has been noticed more for his bad accidents than anything else. For this season finale Hartley expects a step from Toro Rosso to allow him to get closer to the points zone.

“We brought the latest update to Austria, and it didn't give us the performance we expected – Hartley said. That was a long time ago, so we definitely need another upgrade. There should be an update coming from both Honda and Toro Rosso. In Singapore we didn't do well, while Monza was quite competitive for us. In Austria those updates were not good, this put some doubts on the development, but they are working hard to resolve everything. There were a lot of changes in the winter with the arrival of Honda: new personnel and different aerodynamics, so I think the benefits will come as the season progresses, but let's not hide the fact that no updates worked in Austria."
