F1 | Toro Rosso, Albon: “After the accident I did everything more calmly”

All in all, a positive day for Toro Rosso, which in Melbourne saw Kvyat finish in seventh place and rookie Albon in eleventh. The Russian is satisfied with his new debut in Formula 1, while the Anglo/Thai, after testing the barriers in the morning, managed to complete the day without a hitch.

“Today both free practice sessions went well – Kvyat said. We went through our program and completed several laps, which is quite important at this track. The car performed well and I think we made good use of our time on the track, now we need to focus on the things to do for tomorrow. I think there is still some work to do to improve the car and tonight we will see how to act."

“I'm still getting used to the timing of a Formula 1 weekend, as well as to the car and this track which is not at all easy – Albon said. I think our pace so far is good and I'm slowly gaining confidence: after the spin in the first session I took things more calmly, and once I got back behind the wheel we continued with the program, trying a few other things on the car. Rankings aside, we seem to be quite competitive in the middle of the pack, where the gaps are really narrow. Now our goal is to work to improve ourselves for tomorrow."
