F1 | Todt: “Verstappen must be a steward for a day”

While waiting to know what public service the Dutch driver will have to perform following the penalty imposed for the episode that occurred in Brazil with Esteban Ocon, the president of FIA, suggested that Max Verstappen he could play the role of steward for a day, to understand what "it's like to be on the other side".

Regarding the decision of FIA, the Dutchman reiterated that he didn't want to embarrass himself at all:

“I don't want to seem silly, I think we've already talked about it a lot and we'll find something suitable, because I don't want to seem like an idiot”.

Secondo Jean Todt instead, this is an opportunity to learn something:

“When you have this kind of exposure, this kind of fame, it also gives you responsibility. So it means that whatever your emotions are you must be able to control them. And to respect your supporters, to respect your word. Otherwise, you have consequences. But I will say that the consequences in the end are quite small. Honestly nothing has been decided, but clearly it has to be something that will support the world of Formula 1, support the world of racing. Perhaps a contribution to work more closely with some stewards or some officials during some training courses, during some study groups. We have different things happening next year. Maybe attend a stewards expert panel in another motorsport category to put you on the other side and understand that it's not always easy. But I'm sure we will find some constructive programs.".
