F1 | Todt returns to talk about Marchionne: "A figure with great personality"

The president of the FIA Jean Todt is back to talk about Sergio Marchionne, just under two months after his disappearance.

The Frenchman revealed a background story regarding the late Ferrari number one: “On June 28th we had dinner in my office in Geneva, we were supposed to have it on the evening of the Sunday of the Austrian Grand Prix but he asked me to bring it forward. It was me, him and Chase Carey and we talked about the future of Formula One. The next day he sent me a message telling me that it was a great meeting, positive for motorsport".

Continuing to talk about the former CEO of FCA, Todt added: “It's a great loss, not only for everything he did for the industry but for the passion and style he had. He had a great personality. I worked with him before being appointed president of the Federation, we didn't always agree but I had a lot of respect for him as a person".

From Ferrari's past to present: “Camilleri is a very brilliant person – Todt pointed out -. He loves car racing. He clearly has a completely different style from Marchionne, but he is a great businessman and very talented. He is a very simple person".

On the future of the Cavallino in Formula One Todt expressed positivity: "I am sure that the Federation, FOM and Ferrari will be able to do a good job.".
