There is optimism at Red Bull after the first five days of testing. Gasly finished the first day of the second week in fifth position, just six thousandths behind Norris, who outwitted him at the end. However, the Frenchman said he was satisfied and sees the car growing lap after lap.

“Today we pushed a little bit more, but in reality it's just a matter of understanding how the car works – Gasly said. There was a lot of aerodynamic testing and other material to evaluate, this is good for me as it helps me feel more comfortable with the car. We are improving lap after lap, but there is still a lot of work to do. The pace was good, but we have to focus on ourselves and work through the program we have defined day by day. So far so good, we've covered a lot of kilometers and the potential is there, it's there, we have to try to improve in the areas as far as we can, keeping our heads down and continuing to work."
