F1 | Pirelli test: Russell on track with Mercedes
Ferrari and McLaren are also on track
The Williams driver, George Russell, will be at the wheel of the Mercedes during the Pirelli test day scheduled for today on the Hungaroring circuit, scene of the race which saw the triumph of Esteban Ocon two days ago. The Briton has a long-term contract with the Brackley team and many are already considering him as Valtteri Bottas' replacement from next season. Mercedes said it would communicate the decision after the summer break in August. The test will take place on 18" tires with 2022 specifications and Ferrari and McLaren will also participate.
