F1 | Earthquake in FIA: Tim Goss leaves
He is the third member to leave in a matter of weeks
As reported by BBC Sport, Tim Goss has left his role at the FIA. The 60-year-old Briton was appointed technical director a year ago and now the decision has arrived. But Goss is not the only one to have left the FIA: in December, sporting director Steve Nielsen and Deborah Mayer, President of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission, also made an about-turn.
Nielsen will be replaced by Tim Malyon (head of security from 2021) while the name of who will replace Goss is still unknown.
“We are sorry to lose someone of Tim's caliber who played an important role in the technical department and always worked at the highest level. We are aware that his career is taking a new direction, we support and respect his desire to follow another path,” reads a note from Nikolas Tombazis, director of FIA single-seaters.
