F1 | Surer: “Mercedes should focus on Vettel to win the title with another German”

Former driver Marc Surer, interviewed by Sport1, hypothesized the market scenario that would see Sebastian Vettel move to Mercedes. For the Swiss commentator, the Ferrari German, who currently has a contract with Maranello that expires at the end of 2020, would have the chance to redeem himself after a difficult last season where there were moments of tension with teammate Charles Leclerc.

Among which is the fratricidal accident at Interlagos, where both SF90s were forced to retire. Furthermore, for Surer, Mercedes, by hiring Vettel, would have the opportunity to chase the title with a new German driver after the championship won in 2016 with Nico Rosberg.

Surer then made a prediction about Lewis Hamilton: “I have the impression that he will throw in the towel and retire if he wins the next title".
