F1 | Steiner confident: “Sainz's arrival at Renault will benefit Haas”

With Carlos Sainz arriving at Renault already from the next one United States Grand Prix and for all remaining races in this year's championship, the Haas could be Favorite in the constructors' championship. Second Gunther Steiner, in fact, the Toro Rosso he will lose a lot with his farewell and the US team could thus recover more easily 9 points behind.

“I hope this can help us,” said the team boss Haas at Motorsport.com. “It could, because Sainz is certainly a good driver and has scored almost all the points for Toro Rosso in this championship. It's definitely not a disadvantage for us. I wouldn't say we're aiming for seventh place in the constructors' championship, but at least we'll try to do so,” he confirmed.

Steiner believes that this move, a winner for Renault, will thus put Toro Rosso at a disadvantage and favor its pursuers: “We will work hard. We are closer to Toro Rosso. The battle doesn't end there, it's just starting in my opinion. It's hard. I would rather be ahead than behind. It's the same for Toro Rosso. It would be better to be nine points ahead than nine points behind, but that's it anyway interesting for all the fans and we will do our best,” he concluded.
