F1 | Statistics, Fernando Alonso is the driver with the most retirements in 2017
The Spaniard scored ten. Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen complete the podium, with eight and seven retirements respectively
Fernando Alonso tops the list of retirements in the 2017 season. The Spaniard actually raised the white flag 10 times during the last championship. Withdrawals due, in most cases, to technical problems that decimated the Honda power unit. Occupying the second step of the podium in this special ranking is Carlos Sainz (8).
La Top Three it is completed by the trio of Max Verstappen, Marcus Ericsson and Nico Hulkenberg at seven.
Close to the podium we find Daniel Ricciardo with six failures under his belt, the last of which suffered in the final race in Abu Dhabi. A bitter retirement, which cost the Australian from Red Bull fourth place in the World Championship, which went to Kimi Raikkonen.
Behind Ricciardo we find the quartet composed of Daniil Kvyat, Lance Stroll, Kevin Magnussen and Stoffel Vandoorne who closes this (unenviable) Top ten.
