F1 | Seidl: “I will follow a few race weekends, but the focus of my work will be in the factory”

During the last race weekend in Bahrain, scene of the first round of the 2023 Formula 1 season, Andreas Seidl explained his work program within theAlfa Romeo/Sauber, specifying how the focus of his work will not be on the track, but on the activities in the factory.

The German, in fact, will not assiduously follow the team on race weekends, given that his role as general CEO will lead him to focus mainly on the activities at Hinwill and on the path that will lead the Swiss structure - starting from 2026 - to " merge” with an important brand like Audi.

At the wall, however, it will be up to Alessandro Alunni Bravi, together with all his staff, to direct the work strictly linked to the more "racing" aspects.

“The main objective of the Sauber group is Formula 1,” said the German engineer. “On a personal level I will try to contribute with my experience, although the day-to-day and race weekend aspects will be managed by my team. We are talking about a very strong group of people who I trust. I will empower them by giving them what they need. I will participate in some weekends, but success in Formula 1 is built in the factory and that is where I will focus my attention, at least in the immediate future."
