F1 | Sauber, Wehrlein: “The team has enormous potential”

Between injuries and fluctuating performances his adventure in Sauber did not start in the best way, but pascal wehrlein he is still hopeful about his future. The German is still part of Mercedes' young driver program and, although he came very close to being Nico Rosberg's replacement, he doesn't regret anything that happened.

“Toto Wolff said he didn't want to burn me – he told Sport Bild – he said he still believed in me and that I should build myself in peace. Of course, I hoped for a change towards the world champion team, but when Mercedes chose Bottas I wasn't too disappointed because my original plan was still fulfilled."

Unfortunately the difficulties of Clean they were obvious in the Barcelona tests, but the German is still confident that things will improve: “Sauber is at the beginning of an era – he admitted – there is enormous potential in the team and I am proud to be part of this building under construction. We have a highly professional international team."

Hence the desire to still believe in something good: "I really think that the team has enormous potential, but we will have to have a little patience."
