Ericsson ahead for second seat

F1 | Sauber, all ready for Charles Leclerc's announcement: official already in Brazil?

According to what was reported by the newspaper Auto Bild, Sauber could announce Charles Leclerc during the next Brazilian Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the 2017 Formula One world championship.

The Monegasque from the FDA is already part of the Swiss team as third driver, so much so that we will see him back on track in Friday's FP1, but at the moment no information has been leaked from Sauber on the future line-up. The only information was released by Frederic Vasseur a few days ago, who underlined how the agreement with Ferrari provides for at least one seat occupied by a young person from the Ferrari Driver Academy.

The official announcement should arrive on Thursday, but it is not clear whether the Swiss Scuderia will confirm just one driver or the entire line-up for 2018 (Marcus Ericsson has the lead for the second seat. ed.).

Destiny therefore seems sealed for Pascal Wehrlen, who will have to hope for a turnaround to reach the second seat of Williams alongside Lance Stroll.
