F1 | Sauber, Leclerc: “Satisfied with my first outing with the C36”

The atmospheric conditions that hit the Sepang track forced the Sauber team to collect very little data during today's two sessions. In fact, during the hour and a half this morning, Charles Leclerc completed a few laps aboard the C36-Ferrari, making this morning's outing practically useless. In the afternoon, however, Pascal Wehrlein and Marcus Ericsson were unable to complete the race simulation during the afternoon due to Romain Grosjean's accident.

Here are the words of Pascal Wehrlein: “Today was not ideal. I had problems with the brakes during FP1, but we managed to resolve it during the same morning. However, driving in the wet was positive as the car behaved well. During free practice 2, however, things went better, but there is still a gap with our rivals. Let's work to improve over the rest of the weekend."

Here are Marcus Ericsson's impressions: “In the afternoon I had to make up for the time lost during FP1. They managed to put in a good amount of laps during FP2, but still we couldn't get the tires to work. We need to analyze our data tonight to try to improve. We will look for an alternative route during FP3."

Here are Charles Leclerc's assessments: “I am very happy with my first experience with the Sauber F1 Team. Despite the difficult conditions I managed to complete ten laps. The team is satisfied with the work I did and I can't wait to return to the United States."
