F1 | Sauber, Bottas: “We tried to do what we could, but it wasn’t enough”
"There was no performance, no balance in the car," Zhou explained.
Singapore – Nothing to be done for the Sauber. The difficulties show no signs of abating, even in Singapore Valtteri Bottas e Zhou Guangyu will have to rebuild the weekend from the last row. Nineteenth and twentieth respectively, the two did not have enough to try to get close to the cut for entry into Q2, indeed: the car still lacks balance and performance.
Bottas: “We tried to do what we could, but it wasn’t enough”
“As the results show, it was a difficult qualifying. We tried to do what we could, but it wasn’t enough. This track accentuated our weak points, especially on the fast lap. We hope things will go better in the race, but in any case the aim is to optimise the package and hope for the best possible result. We will continue to fight during the break before the next GP”.
Zhou: “There was no performance, no balance in the car”
“We expected a difficult qualifying, and the distance that separates us from Q2 confirms it. We couldn’t even have tried, because we lack the performance; surprisingly, the balance wasn’t there either, and so we couldn’t push to the maximum. Now we are focusing on improving the car. Our attention is now on the race, where anything can happen, we will give it our all. We hope to be a bit more competitive and to be able to compete with our opponents, as we managed to do in Baku”.
