F1 | Sauber, Bottas confident: “Seidl has clear ideas”

Valtteri Bottas is preparing to play his second season in Sauber, still branded Alfa Romeo this year, with the aim if possible of improving the already good results of 2022. Sauber has seen a change at the top in recent weeks, with Frederic Vasseur moved to Ferrari and Andreas Seidl (McLaren team principal until 2022) was appointed CEO of the group. Representing the team on the track at the GPs will be Alessandro Alunni Bravi.

Seidl is a racing man, his skill is also responsible for the relaunch of McLaren in recent years, Sauber chose him to lead the transition to Audi from 2026 and the German manager made an excellent impression on Bottas.

“I met Seidl for the first time two weeks ago, I saw a really very motivated person – land words from Bottas to Motorsport.com – He seems to have quite clear ideas, how to behave with the team and how to motivate the staff. He has a clear vision of things. Obviously he's still gathering information, but I think he's very suited to the role. Obviously I'm sorry for Vasseur's departure, but I understand his choice perfectly. However, I'm not worried, the team seems to be in a very stable situation, I think everything will be fine. And then when there is a turnover in key roles things can also change for the better, we shouldn't be pessimistic".
