F1 | Sainz: “I want to become world champion”

Carlos Sainz he has no doubts. In fact, the Spaniard believes he is in the right place to try to become world champion. The Cavallino standard-bearer, who concluded his third season under the aegis of Maranello, discussed his dream which is precisely that of winning the world championship title. At the same time, Sainz also spoke about the emotion he feels in racing with a legendary brand like that Ferrari.

Last season was very complicated for Ferrari, which had to deal with an uncompetitive car, with the only joy coming in Singapore where Sainz took the victory. A success that allowed the Spaniard, and the Red, to interrupt Red Bull's streak of consecutive triumphs.

“I am in the best position on the F1 starting grid to be world champion without a doubt – said Sainz, interviewed by Dazn Spain – Until you are in Ferrari you don't try it. You basically run around an entire country. I give my all at work, on the track, you train to become world champion and to do it with Ferrari."

The Spaniard, completing his speech, then added: “I am so happy at Ferrari and so happy to be part of this team that, at the moment, I don't see an expiry date. I have many years ahead of me and counting them all in red would not be too important for yours truly. My main motivation is to be world champion. And if I can achieve this with Ferrari, even better. It's what we need to prove in 2024 and I think about the capabilities we have."
