F1 | Sainz on his time spent so far in Maranello: “These days in the factory are very special”

In a FAQ announced on his Instagram page, Carlos Sainz discussed with fans and Formula One enthusiasts. Among the questions that the Spaniard received, those relating to Ferrari could not be missing. The young Carlos will in fact take to the track in the red Prancing Horse suit from the new season, chosen by Maranello to take Sebastian Vettel's place.

After having crossed the factory gates for the first time as a Ferrari man before Christmas, Sainz returned to Italy several days ago to start working in preparation for the next season. Awaiting him were meetings with the engineers and driving on the simulator.

Next week Carlos will be on the track in Fiorano where he will carry out a private test driving the SF71-H, the single-seater used by Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen in 2018, while to drive the SF21 he will have to wait for the winter tests which will be held in Bahrain from 12 to March 14th.

Speaking about the sensations he is experiencing these days he said: “It's incredible. These days in the factory are very special. Wearing the red tracksuit, entering F1, the simulator, seeing the steering wheel with the Cavallino... there are many details that make you feel special".

"I've already been here for 3-4 days this year – Sainz said in response to another question – There is a lot of work to be done on the simulator to be fully ready for testing. I'm meeting a lot of new faces, new people and having to learn a lot of new names that I'm terrible at".

Another subject in which he will have to try his hand and improve is Italian, even if he already speaks it correctly after his years of militancy in Toro Rosso: "I'm learning to speak better than before. I still have a very hard time writing it".
