F1 | Sainz: “I'm sure this victory will help me for the future”

What happened yesterday was a Sunday worth remembering Carlos Sainz. In fact, the Spaniard was the absolute protagonist of the Australian Grand Prix, the third round of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship, winning a clear victory. The Cavallino standard-bearer, who will say goodbye to Maranello at the end of the championship as he is not yet certain about his future, admitted that the performance achieved at Albert Park in Melbourne could highlight him for the next drivers' market.

The one obtained yesterday is the third career victory for Sainz, all of which were obtained with the red Cavallino tracksuit. The last two, namely Singapore 2023 and Melbourne 2024, arrived putting an end to consecutive streaks of Red Bull successes.

“I'm still without a job for next year, I'm sure this helps – said Sainz, interviewed by AS – Everyone knows what I'm capable of. I race to prove to myself that I can win in a competitive car, when the opportunity arises. I don't race to prove my worth to team principals or people. I run to prove it to myself. That's my mentality and that's how I'm going to handle the rest of the year.”
