F1 | Sainz promotes 2017: “Renault is a step forward for my career”

At the end of a 2017 which saw him move within the Renault team, Carlos Sainz is ready to launch himself into the next Formula One world championship. The Spaniard, ninth in the last championship standings, expects a year full of satisfactions, especially in terms of performances.

The arrival in Enstone is allowing him to deal with a completely new environment where he can breathe a completely different atmosphere. After the last two years, in fact, the French expect a significantly different 2018 in terms of performance, especially after the arrival of Charles Budkowski within the technical staff. This is therefore an important opportunity for the Spanish talent after the excellent year he concluded with the colors of Toro Rosso.

Here are the words of Carlos Sainz: “The season was very positive and the move to Renault was a step forward for my career. Obviously when you start a championship you don't expect to change four races from the end, but this is allowing me to work better with the team. In fact, we have faced much of the initial process in recent weeks and this is allowing us to better prepare for 2018."

“I am very satisfied with this challenge I have undertaken. It's true that adapting immediately wasn't easy and it took some work, but we are going in the right direction for the future. We finished the world championship in ninth position and I think it's an excellent result. We didn't score points in every game, but when we had the opportunity to do so we didn't waste it. I'm proud of my championship" he concluded.
