F1 | Sainz: “My only goal is to be a Red Bull driver”

The clash between continues to be discussed Carlos Sainz and the Red Bull team for some statements from the same driver immediately after the Austrian GP.

The Spanish driver had in fact expressed doubts about his stay in Red Bull in 2018 too, sparking the ire of Helmut Marko and Christian Horner, resentful of the "not very veiled" utterances of their driver, guilty of having sided against his own team.

A fuse that still struggles to go out today and which pushed Sainz himself to try to patch up his utterances, branded as the result of simple career ambitions.

“I have my opinion and at that moment I expressed it – the driver told Autosport – perhaps I should have formulated it differently. I didn't like it, seeing as Helmut and Christian took it out on me, but these are things that happen in Formula 1. On my part there is nothing other than pure ambition and sometimes in the heat of the moment you can say determined things. But that's how I am, I have goals. But now it should be over, I've turned the page."

Word that they try to put an end to an affair that could seriously push the Spaniard away from the team who launched him and raised him.

All this despite the driver's will being very different: “My only goal is to be a Red Bull driver in the future. What I want is this and I've said it a million times. And if a quick response of mine caused all this, it's today's times."
