F1 | Russell: “Kubica and I must collaborate, not compete”
"We can't fight for 19th place"
In light of the rather negative first tests for the Williams, the English rider, referring to his teammate, admitted that the priority at the moment is to work together for the good of the team, rather than thinking about a personal goal.
“We cannot and do not want to be rivals -said to Eleven sports- we can't fight for 19th place, we want to help Williams achieve something bigger. If we compete with each other, it won't work, we have to collaborate.".
Kubica gave an alarming account of last week's testing in Barcelona, declaring: “After the week I know as much as I did before, which is nothing”.
Russell, however, wants to look on the bright side:
“I had a good feeling in the car, there seems to be balance. But we can't say much yet because I haven't explored the limits of the car, we still have to optimize all the areas, because everything was done at the last minute.".
