After eight years of undisputed dominance, Mercedes has come back from two rather difficult seasons in favor of an unbeatable Red Bull. After the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton, speaking of the Austrian team, declared: "I have never seen a car so fast."
The team principal, Toto Wolff, took responsibility for the poor performance of the W14 and specified that, starting from the Imola Grand Prix, a completely new car will take to the track.
Nico Rosberg, 2016 World Champion defended the Austrian manager:
“It's incredibly difficult for everyone, because they are so used to success and have written the greatest history ever seen in sport, with eight world titles in a row,” the German told Express.co.uk.
“And yes, Toto is ultimately the one who is responsible but for me, he is the best team manager and team boss here in Formula One.”
The appointment with the third round of the Formula 1 World Championship is next April 2nd with the Australian Grand Prix (race at 7:00 am Italian time).
