F1 | Rosberg on Verstappen-Hamilton: “Generational battle”
“It's not the first time they have had contact,” underlined the 2016 world champion
The accident that occurred at Silverstone between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton was the latest clash in a duel that has been going on since the beginning of the season. Nico Rosberg also expressed his opinion on the rivalry between the Dutchman from Red Bull and the seven-time world champion with Mercedes, with the German admitting that the battle between the two can without a doubt be considered a battle between generations.
"There are also different opinions and I also like to call it a racing accident. Of course you can place a little more blame on one or the other but in the end it is the battle of the generations; both will not leave the other even by an inch and we have already seen this in previous races – said Rosberg to Sky Sports F1 – I mean it's not the first time they've had contact. They already had it in Turn 1 at Imola and we'll see more of it, I'm sure. This is a generational battle. The best guy of the last generation or even the moment, and the best guy of the next generation. It also really reminds me of Senna-Schumacher, Schumacher-Alonso, Alonso… Vettel maybe?”.
