F1 | Robertson on Kimi 2.0: "He's a different driver compared to a few years ago"
“My role is not the same as before,” he added
Despite his reputation as a "pilot unconnected to his own affairs", Kimi Raikkonen has changed his conception of a pilot over the last few years. According to what was declared by his manager, Steve Robertson, the Finn manages his negotiations completely independently, speaking directly with the interested parties. A new way of acting for a rider who in recent years has improved not only his relationship with the public (Kimi is much more open than in a few years. Ed.), but also on a managerial level.
Here are the words of the manager to the Finnish broadcaster MTV: “The process was quite simple because the contract was made four years ago. I didn't have much to do because it was Ferrari who wanted Kimi for another year. I negotiated the main agreement four years ago and the new agreement is just a page added to the previous one. My role is not the same as before: I only intervene if Kimi needs my support. Obviously I always follow his events closely, but he has much more freedom of action."
