F1 | Ricciardo scares Red Bull: "Maybe I'll leave, but I don't want to disrespect anyone"
The Australian continues to waver, but Chris Horner is calm: "We have excellent options in case he leaves"
Inside the paddock, the puzzle linked to the future of Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian driver, expiring with the Red Bull at the end of 2018, he has not yet revealed the team with which he will race next season, thus stimulating the fantasies, first and foremost, of Mercedes e Ferrari, who could potentially have an open seat for him in 2019 considering that the contracts of Lewis Hamilton (the renewal is one step away), Valtteri Bottas e Kimi Raikkonen end at the end of this season.
Contacted by Motorsport.com on the current stalemate, Ricciardo brought out a certain serenity: “It's the first time I could have more than one option and for me that's exciting and great”. Regardless of the final decision, the emotional relationship with Red Bull will not be compromised: “I want to look at the market in the right way. I don't want to disrespect anyone. Maybe I'll leave, but I don't want to do it by pointing fingers at my current team. Whatever I do, Red Bull has still done a lot for my career, so it would be wrong to speak badly of the guys I'm working with. I won't do it under any circumstances. I will make my choices, I will think about it, but I will do everything I can to maintain respect between us".
The team principal of the Milton Keynes team, Chris horner, however, declared that he had alternatives ready in the event of the Australian's farewell: “We are relatively relaxed because we have some great options if Daniel leaves. We want riders who want to be in this team. It doesn't seem right to force a decision.".
