F1 | Ricciardo: “We were far away in free practice, today I'm happy with seventh place”

An excellent qualification for Daniel Ricciardo in the Monaco Grand Prix: the Australian will start from seventh position tomorrow. After a difficult Thursday for the team, Dani managed to find the performance during qualifying. Happy with the result, the driver commented: "I'm even happier than how free practice went, we were too far from the others as a team."

Then Ricciardo continued, analyzing today's performance especially compared to that of free practice: “I wouldn't have expected this result on Thursday, I'm happy. The car, although even more difficult on this track, has improved. Even this morning wasn't good enough, we took risks for qualifying by changing the car, but on this circuit it's even more necessary to take these risks,” he concluded.
