F1 | Ricciardo: “The second row is good”

A good qualification for Daniel Ricciardo, who will start from the second row in the race tomorrow, behind Sebastian Vettel. Nine podiums for him in 2017, and the Australian hopes to end the season by grabbing one more, perhaps ahead of the Ferrari… Here are his words at the end of the day.

“I'm happy with how qualifying went, the second row is good. We thought we could get close to Ferrari but they were too fast. During the first run in Q3 we were slow but I knew we could get a lot more out of the car. We just had to figure out how. We understood the tire temperature a little better and therefore the lap was much faster. This year Saturday hasn't been my best day, so it's nice to finish the season with a good qualifying position. We have been competitive all weekend, not as competitive as the pace of the top three, but I think we could have a chance for the podium tomorrow. It's the last race of the year and everyone will want to win, so there will be a lot of action. We hope to be there in the middle."
