F1 | Ricciardo: “I did everything I could, we hope to complete the work tomorrow”

Second pole position for Daniel Ricciardo in the Principality of Monaco, which had already won here in 2016, only to then see the race ruined due to an error by his team in the pits. The pilot of the Red Bull he got the starting pole in Sunday's race, the sixth round of the 2018 World Championship, after a weekend spent as the undisputed leader, always ahead of the rest of the grid. Will the smiling Aussie be able to complete the job in the race too? Here are his statements at the end of the day.

“We started sending a strong message on Thursday and we were ahead in all the sessions, but the race is tomorrow and we'll see if we can celebrate. I have done everything possible so far, we hope to complete the work tomorrow. It was a beautiful day".

“A bit like in 2016 we arrived at this event knowing we had a real chance of fighting for pole. We also knew that the way the car had gone in the first few races, if we got everything right we would be at the front here. I built my lap step by step and found the right rhythm: I love this circuit, I feel comfortable and it's truly a great pleasure to drive on this track. And then that time, 1:10… it was pure fun and the guys in the team did a fantastic job with the car.”
