F1 | Ricciardo: “Favorites? No, we're still tenths away from beating Mercedes."

After closing the free tests of the afternoon "only" in fourth place, in the FP2 Daniel Ricciardo made a great comeback by taking first place ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Daniel showed excellent race pace as well as an extraordinary flying lap speed which really made him leap at the top of the standings evening.

The same Ricciardo he is satisfied with his Friday, but as always you must never stop and work as hard as possible on the car to achieve perfection. What worries him is precisely the challenge with the Mercedes. Despite the first position, Daniel believes that Red Bull is still a bit at the limit in the challenge with the world champions: “Favorites? For now for me there Mercedes has even more, on Saturdays they are always stronger and also have some margin. We were a tenth ahead of them today, I think we need to find two tenths and maybe we will be there with them. Overall it was a nice Friday, I hope it's the same tomorrow and Sunday,” she commented.

What almost all the riders encountered was a bit of a problem with the feeling with the tyres. Ricciardo also confirmed: “It was a bit difficult with the tires today, last year it seemed easier, today it was more difficult. Now I don't know if we will opt for a stop or two,” he commented.
